Prof. Hugo Pinto Marques is the head of the Surgical Department of Lisbon´s Central Hospitals University Center and a Professor of General Surgery at NOVA Medical School in Lisbon. He is also a Hepatobiliary surgeon at Champalimaud Foundation in Lisbon. He specializes in Hepatobiliary Surgery and Transplantation with a strong interest in laparoscopic liver surgery. Prof. Hugo Pinto Marques developed a significant academic activity with numerous publications, book chapters, and international conferences. He is currently member of the board of the European Surgical Association, Secretary General of the “Compagnons Hepato-Biliaires” founded by Professor Henri Bismuth, and Adjunct Secretary General of the Portuguese Surgical Society. He is a founding member and Portuguese representative of the International Laparoscopic Liver Society.
